Design Team Questionnaire—Emily Bond
- How long have you been scrapbooking?
Five years in August.
- What are your favorite products?
I love new, fresh, exciting product.
- Who are your favorite manufacturers?
Sassafras Lass, My Little Shoebox, Glitzitnow, Pink Paislee, Webster's Pages. Actually, this list is going to be way too long. Let's just put it this way – I love all the little companies working hard to put out new, fun and fresh product. They work hard to keep us motivated and I love them for their energy and dedication.
- How would you describe your style?
Eclectic, whimsical. I’m all over the place really. Sometimes my style is very simple and clean, and sometimes I have stuff all over the place. It depends on my mood and the mood of the event of the picture I am scrapbooking. My heart is very involved when I scrapbook, so it is on every page and project.
- What are your favorite colors and combinations?
Really depends. I think it is probably common knowledge my favorite color is orange because it reminds me of joy, especially the joy i see in my children and grandbaby when they smile. But I love all colors so nothing is off limits for me in a project.
- What type of projects do you usually make?
I love mini books, and 12x12 pages.
- What’s your favorite scrapbooking tool?
ATG adhesive gun. It’s a huge money saver for me with no adhesive back ups. Then it's my Marvy Uchida trimmer. After that, oh my, there are so many favorites. I save up to have my tools. I believe it requires the right tool for the project. It just makes it easier and a lot more fun.
- Where do you look for inspiration?
My faith, my soulmate, my kids.
- What advice do you have for beginning scrapbookers?
Let go of the stress and enjoy falling in love again with those people you are scrapbooking. Plus, don't be afraid to pick up a magazine like Scrap Trends and look for ideas. There is nothing wrong with using their ideas and translating them into your pages or projects. Last but not least, come to a crop with or without a friend. Ask questions. People love to help. It re-energizes their own craft.
