- How long have you been scrapbooking?
I have been scrapbooking/papercrafting for 9 years. I began to scrapbook when I realized that all my children's photos were in a cardboard box.
- What are your favorite products?
I absolutely cannot scrap without pop-up dots, chalks, tape runners and of course, any type of embellishments.
- Who are your favorite manufacturers?
The products I seem to use the most are Maya Road chipboard, Color Box chalks, 3L adhesives, My Little Shoebox Alphabet Stickers, and great paper.
- How would you describe your style?
My style is eclectic. I usually let the photo dictate the style of the layout or project. I love to mix patterns with ample embellishments.
- What are your favorite colors and combinations?
My favorite color is pink. I love to mix it with lime green and brown. There is something about pink and lime green together. . .it always makes me smile.
- What type of projects do you usually make?
I generally scrapbook 12x12 pages. Recently, I have been doing more mini-books and altered projects. I’ll cover anything in paper from paint cans to Pringle cans! I also like to create greeting cards.
- What’s your favorite scrapbooking tool?
My favorite scrapbooking tool would have to be my X-acto knife. In my life before kids, I was a graphic designer and designed layouts and ads for a number of businesses. I was trained the "old fashion way" . . . cut and paste. I always had an X-acto knife in my hand.
- Where do you look for inspiration?
I look for inspiration from monthly publications, blogs, and websites. I really enjoy Scrapbook & Cards Today, a magazine from Canada, Scrapbook Trends, and Cards. I enjoy shopping for supplies and always seem to be inspired by new products.
- What advice do you have for beginning scrapbookers?
My advice to new scrappers is to start out simple. Don't lose the main focus of your layout. . .your photos. It is important to capture the memories. Everything after that is like icing on a cake. . .and who doesn't like icing?!!
